The eyelids got heavy and Ann had a nap after her yogurt. By midmorning it had been about 6 hours since her last walk and she was getting a bit sluggish so I sounded the bugle. We did another, longer walk arm-in-arm without a staff member or cart. Ann felt better for doing it as it helps her lungs expand and gas escape.
We also got to chat with Leslie. The ladies have dubbed the donated kidney ‘Louise’. Leslie reported that Louise seems to be working as her legs felt warm from blood for the first time in many years. That is a pretty good testament to the potential benefit of kidney donation.
About 11am Ann’s energy got low and she wasn’t feeling well. It turned out to be dehydration and our excellent day nurse got her feeling better by restarting Ann on an IV.
At 3pm Ann took a long walk with me, Leslie and Leslie’s family. Afterwards she was able to pass urine which is one of the discharge requirements. Yeah!

Annie, it sounds like you’re making great progress! Let Brad and your nurses take good care of you and rest as much as you can. still sending prayers and hugs your way.
I am so sorry I have just seen the email! Ann you are an amazing lady!! (Of course we already knew that) I am glad to hear everything is going well so far for you and your friend! I will continue to read and keep up! Love you lady! Hope you are feeling great in no time. Love, Renee
