It was kind of a roller coaster night that had its share of discomforts.
On the positive side, we had fewer beeps and interruptions for tests.
On the downside Ann’s attempt to get down to 1 Norco pain tablet was not successful and she did not have appetite. The pain combined with the need for a lot of restroom trips due to the IV became a great ordeal for her. She ended up sleeping in a chair which made getting up easier. It also gave me a chance to sleep in the bed which was nice for me.
This morning the IV is off and Ann showered for the first time so she feels better now. She has pain in her shoulders and is tender in the abdomen so I find she is pretty tuned into ‘how much longer until the next pain pill’. Her temperature was up to 99 as well.
Goals for today are to use the Incentive Sperometer to help Ann’s lungs expand and avoid infection.

Hope you are feeling better soon sweet lady!See you soon. Thanks for the updates Brad! Love you guys.
Hospitals are no fun and the worst place for rest! Praying the recovery continues so that you can go home and get that much needed rest and healing! Thank you for the updates.
you’re doing great Annie! Keep a positive attitude – the pain meds can help with that if you’ve got the good stuff. Love you, Jan
Don’t you just hate those speed bumps on the road to recovery. Buckle your seat belt and keep it in a forward gear. You know you are in a hospital zone and the post speed limit is slow and easy. We all want miraculous result at the speed of light, considering our age we probably should be thankful for maintaining forward progress. Thinking of you constantly. Love you.
You are an inspiration! I’ll be thinking of you…Hang in there!
Ann,
We are going to keep you in our prayers. Hope all goes well for you and you get out soon. Will continue to check this website for updates.
Love, Betty
Keep up the good work Ann (and Brad). We’re thinking of you. It all sounds familiar from my mom’s 7 days in the hospital after double knee replacement. Keep your spirits up, take it all in baby steps one day at a time and you’ll be out of there and in no time.
