Sometimes you hear a phrase and it doesn’t have much meaning or isn’t really appreciated. One phrase that I hadn’t appreciated is when they say on the news, ‘so-and-so is resting comfortably in the hospital’. This afternoon and evening are the first times that I would say that Ann was resting comfortably since surgery.
Ann still has not been able to pass gas from her intestines but we are hopeful that will come soon.. [Last minute update, Ann passed gas at 6:55pm]. The doctors say it is not required to be eligible for discharge, so we are hopeful of being able to leave the hospital tomorrow.
Leslie has made really great strides and may also be discharged tomorrow. As the recipient, she has more medications and longterm health concerns but I would say that Ann is in more pain right now. Ann needs some assistance with transitions from sitting to standing and still sleeps in the chair as she feels more comfortable this way. Her shoulder pain from surgery gas is still pretty intense. Ann’s temperature readings have gone down today but she has had some blood pressure spikes so it is certainly not easy going. Nontheless, we are feeling better about the stability of her condition and look forward to being discharged to the care of ‘Dr Brad’ at our extended stay hotel.

We are so glad to hear things are going so well! Also, thank you Brad for all the updates. It really is a great comfort to know that things are going so well for both Annie and Leslie. Never knew passing urine and gas would be such great news!:)
Thanks for all the detailed updates, Brad. It is comforting to me to know these two special ladies have such wonderful husbands to care for them! It is unbelievable to me that they may possibly be discharged tomorrow! WOW! I still am offering prayers daily for my two dear friends. Hugs to “banana” and “Les of a woman” and their families!
