Ann and I slept pretty well last night. She went back to sleeping in the bed which I took as a good sign. Ann called it, “an uneventful night, which is the perfect kind“.
- Clinically Ann has been able to taper down to 1 pain pill every 4 hours. She still has pain from surgical gas plus tenderness, plus intermitant intestional gas but she is a trouper and handling it all well.
- The nurse exlained that a modestly elevated blood pressure is okay as it means flow through the kidney is good – low blood pressure with only one kidney would be much worse.
- I have been concerned about Oxygen readings of 89/90% while Ann was resting. I took her for a walk and afterwards her blood oxygen level was at 95% which pleased the nurse.
- Ann was able to rise and dress herself this morning with a lot more agility than the previous day.
We think we are on track to be discharged today, about noon. Ann will still need a lot of recovery time so her phone is going to stay off for a while.
We do not have room here, at the hotel, or in the car for gifts and flowers. But we do feel and appreciate the tremendous outpouring of support. I have just this morning re-read her ALL the comments and well-wishes from this web site. She is delighted and very touched by all the sweet remarks. We giggled at the humorous ones as well. Thank you.

Annie – you just amaze me. So glad you are doing so well. Brad – you are doing a great job taking care of her! Love to you both. See you today! ð
Annie,
So glad you are getting discharged today. You look beautiful in our picture!!!! I hope you are able to have a little fun at the hotel even if it is not as rambunctious as the Spring Break Trip to FL!!!!! I’m thinking about you and am hoping you are feeling really great very, very soon!
Love to both Annie and Les! Wish I could be in Madison with you. So glad CA is coming in for extra support. Keep up the road to recovery. Thanks for all the updates Brad. Love to you all, Margie
Hello! We are so happy to read that things are going well for you! We hope the recovery continues to go well and you do get out of the hospital today. Thank you for the updates!
Catching up today on Ann and Leslie’s recovery. Pleased to see the great strides. What a great husband and caretaker you are Brad! Love to all. Prayers continue!
Love, Sandy
Hi Ann,
Its so great to be able to see you up and around and even dressed. And Leslie, also! You’ve both been through so much! I love seeing the pictures. I guess technology really is useful at times (spoken by someone that still has Windows XP – Ugh!).
Thank you so much for keeping us updated on everything, Brad. It’s been an enlightening journey on this end. The more we hear about successful organ donation, the more likely more lives will be saved.
Love, Teresa & Ed
Lisa & Scott and Colleen asked me to send you their best wishes for a speedy recovery as well!
