Both Ann and Leslie were discharged from the hospital today. The photo shows the ladies together just prior to discharge.
Ann was determined to walk out on her own power and she did so. No wheelchair and even eschewing having me drive up to the hospital doorway. She walked across the parking lot (gingerly) at both the hospital and the hotel.
By the time we got to our room, the cumulative lack of sleep caught up with us both and we fell into a deep sleep. A fellow college roomate, C.A., and her husband, Bob, came by to visit and I was initially afraid that I slept so deeply that I missed their knock on the door. Bit alas we heard them and got up for a nice chat.
Ann and I are now taking it easy, watching the Masters golf tournament and counting our blessings to have come through the worst of it. This blog will not get updated nearly as frequently this week. But thank you for reading and thanks to the many prayers, well-wishes, vibes, and positive energy sent. I think they helped and were felt not just by Ann and myself but also by the people that were caring for Ann.
p.s. Did I say ‘taking it easy’? Ann is now on the floor with an exercise mat and a foam roller giving me orders on how to hold the roller. I guess you could say she is getting back to normal.

What great news!. Love to all. Mom
You both look wonderful! So happy for the both of you. Don’t push to hard! Love, Renee
Congratulations Annie and Leslie for getting out of the hospital. You will get much better rest now! You are both very special people! Miss you!
Heh Annie, Glad to hear you’re ordering Brad around! That’s a definate recovery step! Even though this is a serious matter, reading thru each step you’ve taken in this recovery and especially the will to walk to the car and all, just makes me smile. Without us strong minded women, where would this world be? Keep up the exercise as I’m sure that’s what they want you to do. You and Leslie are looking amazing.
Try to be nice to your gofor & wingman! ð Thanks Brad!
You Rock Girlfriend!
I am so proud to know you Ann (and Brad too) I have been praying every day for you and for and Leslie and wondering if I would be able to give of myself the way you have for Leslie. During this Lenten season we see the path that Jesus took on Holy, week, the suffering the pain, and sacrifice for others. Ann, you are my hero. Today, we lit a candle for you at Palm Sunday services. I am so happy you are feeling better and getting stronger. Godspeed. Ann!
Glad all is well and you were able to be discharged. Hopefully you’ll be back to 100% soon!

Wow, I can’t get over how good both of these ladies look, just a short time after surgery! Keep up the positive attitude, Annie, and your recovery will fly by! Btw, what in the world are you doing with a foam roller? Just curious. Hugs and lots of love to my special friend!
